REACH24H Secures U.S. FDA No Objection Letter for Food-Grade rPP Mechanical Recycling Processfor Recycled Plastics

Updated on Apr. 23rd, 2026

REACH24H Consulting Group is proud to announce it has successfully facilitated a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) No Objection Letter (NOL) for a mechanical recycling process for recycled polypropylene (rPP). This achievement paves the way for high-performance, food-grade recycled plastics to enter the U.S. market, addressing the surging global demand for sustainable packaging and reinforcing the transition toward a circular economy.

The newly authorized process supports the production of rPP materials which can be used at levels up to 100% for the manufacture of articles. The articles are intended to contact dry foods across temperatures from ambient to frozen (FDA Conditions of Use E through G).

Successfully navigating the stringent U.S. FDA regulatory framework for recycled plastics demands exceptional technical expertise and strategic regulatory planning. REACH24H’s Food Contact Materials (FCM) team drew on its extensive knowledge of global compliance standards to develop and implement a tailored submission strategy on behalf of the project developer — a leading innovative materials technology manufacturer headquartered in China.
