This achievement not only demonstrates REACH24H’s professional expertise and outstanding capabilities in pesticide registration but also lays a solid foundation for the company’s expansion into the Australian market.

In recent years, REACH24H has focused on the Australian pesticide market, conducting in-depth research into Australia’s pesticide regulatory framework while leveraging its extensive experience and technical strengths in pesticide registrations across China, Europe, and the United States.

With a strategic approach rooted in China, advanced expertise in Europe and the U.S., and a growing presence in Australia, REACH24H is committed to providing one-stop global pesticide registration services to help companies smoothly enter international markets.

The registration process was completed in just 7 months, thanks to REACH24H’s deep understanding of Australian pesticide regulations, rigorous quality control of critical documentation, and effective management of registration risks.

To help more companies comprehensively understand the requirements for Australian pesticide registration, REACH24H has summarized the following key points:

APVMA Registration Scope

Agricultural chemicals must be evaluated and registered by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) before they can be legally sold, supplied, or used in Australia.

Active ingredients must be approved either before or concurrently with products containing them. APVMA-regulated agricultural chemicals include:

  • Pesticides (e.g., vertebrate baits, insecticides, biocides, herbicides) for farm, commercial, or household use

  • Personal, household, or commercial insect repellents

  • Pool chemicals for residential or recreational industries

APVMA Registration Exemptions

Australia currently exempts over 200 active ingredients from registration, including common substances such as citric acid, citronella oil, potassium permanganate, and zinc oxide.

While exempt active ingredients do not require APVMA approval, products containing these substances must still be registered with the APVMA to be legally sold, distributed, or used in Australia if they fall under APVMA’s regulatory scope.

Registration Entities

  • Any individual or legal entity.

  • Applicants for approval or registration can be existing or potential holders, regardless of location. Approved applicants become the "holder" of the registration.

  • Non-resident holders conducting business in Australia must appoint an Australian "nominated agent" as part of registration conditions. The agent shares the same legal responsibilities as the holder.

Australian Pesticide Registration Registration Types

Australia has over 30 registration types, including Item 1-25, 27-29, and specialized categories like Item 10A, 10B, 13A, covering:

  • Active substance approvals (e.g., Item 17 – Same Reference Product Registration)

  • Product registrations (e.g., Item 5/6 – Similar Formulation, Item 7 – Same Formulation, Item 10 – New Formulation)

  • Permit applications and modifications

Product Registration Renewal

  • Registered products must be renewed annually by May 30. Products with a 5-year renewal must be renewed by May 30 of the expiry year.

  • APVMA notifies holders via email in early April each year when renewals open. Failure to submit renewal applications before the fiscal year ends will result in registration cancellation.
