On August 23, 2022, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) opened 10 new food-related products for public comments, including 2 new additives for food contact materials (FCM), 4 additives with expanded application scope, 3 new resins, and 1 resin with expanded application scope. Any comments can be sent to biaozhun@cfsa.net.cn before September 16, 2022.

Two New FCM Additives 

• Cyclohexane, 1,1'-methylenebis[4-isocyanato-, homopolymer, cyclohexylamine-terminated

• 2-[2-(2,4-diamino-6-hydroxypyrimidin-5-yl) diazenyl]-5-methylbenzenesulfonic acid

Four FCM Additives with Expanded Application Scope 

• Octadecyl 3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)   propionate

• Napthalensulfonic acid, polymer with formaldehyde,   sodium salt

• Fatty acid esters of C1~C18 mono- and poly-fatty alcohols

• Silane, dichloro dimethyl-, reaction products with silica

Three New FCM Resins

• Carbon monoxide-ethylene-propylene terpolymer

• 4-ethylphenol, m-cresol, p-cresol and 4-tert-Butylphenol polymers with formaldehyde

• Polymer of ethylene glycol, 2,2-dimethyl1,3-propanediol, terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, adipic acid and itaconic acid

One FCM Resin with Expanded Application Scope

• Isophthalic acid, polymer with 1,3-benzenedimethanamine and hexanedioic acid (Generic name: PA)
