As of July 2026, Malaysia's market boasts over 241,000 notified cosmetics. Against this backdrop, the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) strictly regulates this thriving industry under the ASEAN Harmonized Cosmetic Regulatory Scheme to ensure product safety, quality, and efficacy.

Teh Pei Pei - Senior Principal Assistant Director

NPRA

Teh Pei Pei graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) in 2007. She completed her provisional pharmacist training at Klang General Hospital, and subsequently continued her service at Banting District Hospital and Seri Kembangan Health Clinic. She joined NPRA in 2012, initially serving as a regulatory pharmacist in the Complementary and Alternative Medicine division. She transferred to the Cosmetics division in 2021, and has since been serving as a cosmetics evaluator.
