Background: Regulatory Trends in Asia-Pacific
In recent years, with the deepening global understanding of chemical environmental and health risks, Asia-Pacific economies are accelerating the development of a chemical regulatory framework centered on risk prevention and oriented toward full life-cycle management.
Chinese Mainland: Measures for Environmental Management Registration of New Chemical Substances (MEE Order No. 12), focusing on high-risk substances such as PBTs.
South Korea: Revised K-REACH, strengthening hazardous substance management.
Vietnam: New Chemical Law, emphasizing full life-cycle risk control.
These efforts reflect increasing complexity and stringency in chemical compliance across the region.
For multinational enterprises aiming to deepen their presence in the Asia-Pacific market, accurately grasping the latest regulatory developments across various countries and regions and effectively addressing increasingly stringent compliance requirements have become critical challenges to ensuring market access, maintaining supply chain stability, and achieving green and sustainable development.
