A Halal Supervisor Competency Milestone for REACH24H Indonesia
The Halal Supervisor Competency Certificate strengthens REACH24H Indonesia's understanding of the internal controls expected under Indonesia's Halal Product Assurance system. It supports the team's ability to coordinate application information, review SJPH readiness and help project stakeholders understand the responsibilities that continue after certification.
The competency belongs within the local team and should not be interpreted as a certificate issued to the company as a legal entity. It also does not make REACH24H a Halal inspection body, Halal determination body or certificate-issuing authority.
Service boundary: REACH24H provides consulting, documentation and project-coordination support. Applicant or representative appointments require the appropriate legal and contractual arrangements. Product classification, assessment, Halal determination and certificate issuance remain the responsibility of BPJPH and the designated bodies under the applicable pathway.
What Does a Halal Supervisor Do?
Under Government Regulation No. 42 of 2024, businesses applying for Halal certification are required to have a Halal Supervisor, subject to the applicable route and business category. BPJPH describes the role as a key part of maintaining consistent SJPH implementation at the business level.
The Halal Supervisor functions as an internal assurance role. Responsibilities may include:
Supervising the Halal Product Process (PPH) and coordinating its implementation across the relevant operations;
Applying SJPH controls, including material controls, risk management, internal review and documentation;
Initiating corrective and preventive measures when a material or production process may not meet PPH requirements;
Preparing for and supporting Halal assessment, including evidence, samples, explanations and coordination with Halal auditors where applicable.
A Halal Supervisor does not replace the applicant, the Halal Inspection Body (LPH), the Halal determination process or BPJPH. The role helps the business operate and demonstrate its internal Halal assurance controls.
Certification Pathways for Imported Products
International manufacturers and brand owners generally need to distinguish between two main pathways before preparing an application. The appropriate route depends on the product, existing certification, issuing body, recognition scope and Indonesian applicant arrangements.

Applications for foreign products are filed through an importer or official representative domiciled in Indonesia, subject to the selected pathway. The precise dossier, translation and legalisation requirements should be confirmed for each project rather than inferred from a generic checklist.
