CTI Enters First Accredited Labs for China RoHS Certification

China RoHS Certification

The nationwide voluntary campaign of China RoHS was launched in May 2010 by China MIIT and China CNCR2 and rolled into full action with the formulation of a 2011 enforcement plan coded as CNCA-RoHS-01013.

It encourages domestic sectors of electric and electronic production to act in compliance with regulations on the restriction of six hazardous substances used in electric and electronic products - Pb, Cd, Hg, Cr (VI), PBBs and PBDEs. Applying suppliers must sign a declaration of conformity which pledges their tested products and the uncovered materials in the testing shall comply with the threshold limits to the aforesaid six hazardous substances set in GB/T 26572-2011.

They also have to meet a set of criteria on the company’s pollution control capacities, as specified in Appendix 2 of the CNCA-RoHS code. These include risk identification, risk management, RoHS compliant product designing, examination of the purchase of product parts, production process control and inspection, product and parts traceability system, RoHS non-conforming products disposal, and etc.

Products that pass through the voluntary certification shall be granted with a uniform certification mark as the following upon leaving the factory:
