China launches anti-dumping probe over toluidine from EU

The action followed a request from Jiangsu Huaihe Chemicals, Ltd., which filed a petition on May 2 on behalf of Chinese toluidine producers. The period of investigation is from January 1, 2011 to December 1, 2011. However, for the purpose of analyzing injury, the data of previous three year, from January 1, 2008 to December 1, 2011 has been considered. The investigation would conclude before June 29, 2013, but the ministry said the investigation may be extended for another 6 month under exceptional circumstances. Toluidine is an intermediate widely used to synthesis dyes, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and color-developer. Also, it is an important solvent in analytical chemistry.
