Chinese Infant Formula Tests Positive for Pathogenic Bacteria

Takehome:

  • 2 batches of registered Chinese infant formula milk powder failed sampling inspection conducted by SAMR. One batch tested positive for enterobacter sakazakii.

On Mar. 7, 2019, China SAMR announced the domestic sampling inspection result of 2936 batches of food products. 2 batches of infant formula food failed the inspection. A batch of “Meijia” infant formula milk powder (stage 1) manufactured by Heilongjiang Nongken Yingbohuawei Dairy Co.,Ltd. tested positive for enterobacter sakazakii.
